The Y. Chen LBL line cello is designed with advanced students and young professionals in mind.  Clear and bright on the upper register and firm and robust on the bass, it gives the player a complete acoustic arsenal to tackle the the most challenging repertoire.  Made on the standard Strad model (of 760mm back length with 687-690mm effective string length) with well-aged maple and spruce, it ensures material stability, structural integrity, and playing comfort.  Attractive figures in the maple and a slightly shaded antique look compliments the instrument’s beauty in sound.  The cello also has an imbedded carbon fiber rod in the neck to minimize neck movement which can result in string clearance issues and unwanted change in sound.  It is typically set up with Swiss style ebony pegs, a light-weight carbon composite tailpiece with built-in fine tuners, a solid carbon fiber rod with ABS cone, and Larsen Soloist strong A, D, Thomastik Spirocore Tungsten G and C, and a custom-made Belgium style bridge.
