About Valentine:
Born in a family of musicians and piano restorers, Valentine has been passionate about music and instrument design since childhood. She studied violin and piano to a high level, notably at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven (Belgium) and works regularly in her father's piano restoration workshop.
She graduated with honors from the Newark School of violin making in 2008.
She then perfected her skills in the restoration of old instruments from the 18-19th century with Gert Schrijvers in Hasselt and Jan Strick in Brussels.
Valentine actively participated in the creation of the CLAC (Collective of Luthiers and Archetiers Co-op) and was its president from 2019 to 2023. She now takes on the role of a coordinator for the collective.
Besides her professional activities, Valentine Dewit is a keen violinist for the ARTEFA company which provides her with a deep understanding of professional musicians' needs.
