About Tony:

Tony Echavidre is a luthier based in Bordeaux, France. Tony went to the Newark school of violin making in 1998, then in 2002 joined the Heyligers workshop in Cremona, and then set out to start his own workshop in Bordeaux since 2009, and is a founding member of the CLAC (contemporary luthiers association collective) in Paris. He received the SEMA departmental prize for crafts and a grant from the Marcel Vatelot Foundation, and a coup de ceur for a baroque cello at the cello festival En Siene in 2012. Tony's work is profiled in the Contemporary Violin Makers publication by Jost Thöne. .
