A beautiful gold mounted violin bow by Pierre Nehr, made in Paris, France, in 2021. This remarkable bow weighs 61.5 grams, has a powerful strength, while having a petite handle, brilliant yet smooth and rich tone, that has a compact focus with a consistent feeling and nimbleness throughout the stick.
About Pierre:
At age 16, in September 1995, Pierre began his 5 year apprenticeship with his brother, Jean-Pascal Nehr in Marseille. During this time, Pierre also finished an apprenticeship in 1998 in Mirecourt.
In 2000, Pierre went to Paris to work in the workshop of Gilles Chancereul, luthier and expert.
In 2002, Pierre opened his workshop in Paris, devoting himself to the making of bows and restoration of old bows for various luthiers and international collectors.
Pierre's bows are entirely handmade according to French tradition, where the work is influenced by the great French masters of the 19th century to which he brings his personal style. Currently, he works only on the creation of new bows.
Pierre's bows are played by orchestra musicians, chamber musicians, concertmasters, soloists, as well as collectors around the world.
