A great violin bow by award winning bowmaker, Lucie Martinie. At 60 grams, this silver ebony violin bow arrives as a part of a quartet of bows commissioned for Bay Fine Strings with the shop specifications in mind.

About:

Lucie started her making career focusing on violin making, at the Ecole Nationale de Lutherie in Mirecourt. Lucie had furthered her experience in bow workshops in Mirecourt and Toulouse. After graduating violin making school, she joined Yannick Le Canu's workshop in Lille. She trained in bow making and restoration with him. In 2014, she awarded a "Coup de Coeur" at The Violoncell'en Seine Competition. Lucie set up her workshop in Uzerche since 2017, whom she collaborates with the violin maker Mylène Lassalle.

In 2018, she was awarded a Gold Medal for her viola bow and certificate of merit for her cello bow at the Violin Society of America competition, and is the first french woman to win a gold medal at the VSA in bowmaking.

In 2022, Lucie achieved gold medals for artisanship for a viola and cello bow, as well as a certificate of merit for a violin bow.

In 2024, Lucie received certificates of merit for a viola and cello at the VSA competition.

Lucie's work is appreciated and played by musicians worldwide.
