Joseph Couturieux Violin, Mirecourt, France Mid 19th Century

A very nice French Violin by Joseph Couturieux made in Mirecourt, France, in the mid 19th century.

This is a violin made on a large pattern, legnth of back 365mm, but not without ample rib height and a powerful medium flat arch. Amazing sounding concert instrument with a warm and penetrating tone by a family of French makers whom worked for J.B. Vuillaume and later setup in Mirecourt, France. This example has all of the aesthetic and sound qualities of a fine Vuillaume; power, quality, richness, response, modulation, packaged with the finest tonewood in a compact size. Very attractive price in comparison to a J.B. Vuillaume, and Rampal certificate.

LENGTH OF BACK: 36.5cm

CERTIFICATE: Rampal
