A fantastic silver mounted viola bow Emmanuel Carlier, 72 grams made in Paris, France, in 2021. Lively stick with an energetic and colorful response. Medium firm suppleness with delicate gradation. The bow was exhibited in the Inaugural Bay Fine Strings Contemporary Violin Makers Exhibition and Concert April 29th 2023, and a copy of the published catalog will be included with this bow.
About Emmanuel Carlier
Emmanuel Carlier began his bow-making apprenticeship in 2005. Two years later, he joined Pierre Guillaume in Brussels with whom he developed his taste for old bows. In 2010, back to Paris he focused on his own bows. In 2013/2014, he did a residence at Villa Medici, the french academy in Roma. Early 2022, he opened a new workshop in Paris with Charles Coquet, violin maker.
Many of his bows are now played in major orchestras around the world.
